Since 2012, the association L’Africaine d’Architecture has been experimenting in Lomé with an alternative model of the Smart City, grounded in the democratization of technology and the development of Digital Commons. The initiative has quickly established itself as one of the most radical critiques of digital capitalism and as a strong beacon of social innovation, thanks to its inclusive and redistributive approach. This vision has translated into tangible results on the ground, as well as significant international recognition through several prestigious awards and citations.

Today, after more than ten years of self-financing, this initiative has reached a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) stage. HubCity is now entering a new phase of openness and scaling.
